Scaling Support with a Human and Empathetic Approach
A few years ago, Con-Héctor was created as a virtual assistant designed to provide reliable information to vulnerable people in Latin America. Its purpose has always been clear: to provide free, easy-to-use tools that empower people to generate income, strengthen their digitalization, and promote their financial inclusion.
Con-Héctor expands: more capacity, more impact
Over time, the use of Con-Héctor grew, and people’s needs became more complex. For Michelle Ramírez, Product Manager in our Advanced Digital Services team, “Con-Héctor facilitates access to tools that support income generation, digitalization, and financial inclusion—and we also want people to make informed decisions and strengthen their digital ownership, always with an approach rooted in their real-life contexts.”
The virtual assistant’s growth required constant updates. That’s when our developer, Sebastián Salcedo, led the migration to NestJS, a modular, microservices-based architecture.
«Switching to NestJS allowed us to scale the product, add integrations, and optimize maintenance without a single change affecting the entire system».
The Arrival of Artificial Intelligence
With a strengthened technological foundation, the next step was to integrate artificial intelligence through OpenAI and natural language processing (NLP) technologies. This allows Con-Héctor to understand everyday language, interpret intent, and generate contextualized responses in real time.
«We wanted to expand the range of segmented information and services, responding to each person in a precise and personalized way», says Michelle. «AI helps us scale support without losing our human and empathetic approach».
Features That Empower Microenterprises
Con-Héctor makes it easy and quick for anyone to:
- Send and receive voice notes to make interactions easier for those with limited time or digital experience.
- Access over 900 verified resources in the form of text, videos, infographics, and documents.
- Engage in interactive conversation flows on WhatsApp with tools ranging from credit simulators to promotional image creation for businesses.
In the case of promotional images, the user describes their business and the AI writes the text, corrects spelling, suggests ideas, and adapts the content to the selected image—all in just a few minutes and without relying on third parties.
For Michelle, the combination of personalized flows and AI empowers people to promote their products without investing much time or extra money.
Looking Ahead
The Con-Héctor team plans to continue adding interactive tools, personalized templates, and simulators that make business management easier. «Every new feature responds to a real need expressed by the people who use Con-Héctor», Sebastián explains.
Thus, what began as an informational virtual assistant is evolving into a smart digital ally that supports entrepreneurs at every step of their journey.
