Building a New Generation of Public Policies<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How can a government support thousands of entrepreneurs without losing quality, closeness, and capacity to adapt?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is one of the questions we are addressing together with the Brazilian Ministry of Social Development (MDS)<\/a> through Acredita no Primeiro Passo<\/a>, one of the most ambitious economic inclusion programs in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By late 2025, the program had reached 290,000 participants, of which 70% were women. The entrepreneurship component of Acredita<\/a> offers low-interest, collateral-free microloans to entrepreneurs registered in the Cadastro \u00danico, Brazil's social registry, through alliances with financial institutions. The goal is to support entrepreneurs in starting or strengthening their businesses and increasing their income as a strategy to escape poverty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acredita<\/a> was designed to be much more than a microloan program. It recognizes that access to financing alone is rarely sufficient for entrepreneurs to thrive. Evidence shows that sustainable income growth requires combining the ability to provide support and permanent access to practical guidance. Together with the MDS<\/a>, we are strengthening these components to make the program comprehensive and increase its potential for transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the work responds to specific needs of the Brazilian context, the learning we are generating has high potential for other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particularly relevant are our learnings on how to strengthen support in large-scale public programs, and how to combine human support with digital tools without replacing the relationship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Capacities of Business Advisors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the main priorities of the alliance is to strengthen the role of Business Advisors, professionals linked to financial institutions who not only connect entrepreneurs with microloans opportunities, but also accompany them throughout their entrepreneurial journey, providing guidance, strengthening their capacities, and helping them overcome the challenges of their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working in close collaboration with the MDS<\/a> and Alian\u00e7a Empreendedora<\/a>, we play a leadership role in technical assistance to design and implement the National Training Strategy for Business Advisors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We launched a virtual learning platform to train Business Advisors across the country, with a curriculum composed of four modules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
