Ser & Crecer supported 40 refugee, asylum-seeking, and migrant families in Paraguay during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping them strengthen their businesses and advance their social and economic integration. The initiative responded to a growing entrepreneurial landscape in the country, while addressing key barriers such as complex administrative processes and limited access to financing, which often hinder the development of new ventures.
To address these challenges, together with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), we designed a training and technical support program using a blended learning approach that combined virtual and in-person learning exchanges. The strategy included three components: training in entrepreneurial and personal development skills, a business strengthening competition with financial incentives, and the promotion of financial inclusion through strategic partnerships with financial institutions.
With this approach, Ser & Crecer helped participants grow their businesses sustainably by strengthening their skills, expanding their opportunities, and fostering connections that supported their personal and economic development.
