The Financing and Investment Network for Small Farmers and AgroSMEs (SAFIN Network) is a global community of over 50 institutions working to strengthen financial ecosystems in the agricultural sector. Its goal is to close the gaps between providers, applicants, and facilitators of financing, promoting solutions that address the financial and non-financial needs of small and medium-sized agribusinesses.
The SAFIN Network offers its members a dynamic space for knowledge exchange, the promotion, and co-creation of initiatives with the potential to mobilize more capital towards the sector. In 2024, regional clusters were created to address the specific challenges and opportunities of each context, while fostering global learning and the exchange of best practices.
During the first regional meeting of the SAFIN Network, held on November 4th and 5th, 2024, in San José, Costa Rica, the main areas of interest were identified: green finance, challenges related to the EU's No Deforestation Regulation, and digital innovations in agriculture.
In 2025, we will continue facilitating coordination between members and key actors in the region, with the following objectives:
