Protagonistas was an initiative designed to promote the empowerment of women in Antioquia through access to financial products focused on their characteristics, interests, and needs. Together with CoreWoman and CFA Cooperativa Financiera, we worked to ensure that more women could take control of their finances and strengthen their economic capacity.
We focused on promoting financial inclusion to reduce the barriers that have historically limited women from accessing, using, and benefiting from various financial products. Additionally, we collaborated with key stakeholders to highlight the importance of promoting gender equality in public and political discourse. Our work aims to foster a systemic change in the perception of women's economic roles, emphasizing their essential contribution to development and the economy.
The systemic approach we adopted allowed us to address both the structural barriers and the behaviors, biases, and individual limitations that many women face. Protagonistas included in its activities the design and development of a practical strategy that promoted systemic change in the social and cultural norms linked to gender, focusing not only on women but also on the family unit.
