Between 2023 and 2024, we took part in the Colombia Más Competitiva program with the aim of integrating a cross-cutting financial inclusion approach into productive projects in coffee, cocoa, tourism, and natural ingredients. We promoted the use of digital payment methods, access to formal savings, and productive financing as key tools to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of value chains across 14 departments in the country.
With technical and financial support from SwissContact and in coordination with the implementing entities of the 13 co-financed initiatives, we developed tailored technical assistance adapted to local contexts through partnerships with fintechs, cooperatives, and microfinance institutions. We implemented educational tools, strengthened local capacities, and designed financial instruments that facilitated access to capital—especially for small-scale producers.
We consolidated six strategic partnerships with fintechs, cooperatives, and microfinance institutions, which enabled the adoption of digital wallets, the opening of new savings accounts, and access to productive credit. We supported 1,335 people—mainly small-scale producers—through practical tools that improved their financial health and promoted more informed decision-making. With strong participation from women, we strengthened their economic autonomy, promoted the use of digital tools across value chains, and contributed to the structural transformation of financial inclusion in rural areas.
