Capital Project

Financial Inclusion in Latin America

About the Initiative

Project Capital was a strategy that promoted and strengthened public policies and private initiatives to integrate social protection with financial inclusion, transforming the lives of millions of people living in poverty across 14 countries. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos and funded by the Ford Foundation and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada.

Between 2008 and 2017, the initiative played a key role in positioning financial inclusion and education on national agendas.
