WORKSHOPS WITH YOUTH IN PARAGUAY ON WORLD SAVINGS DAY

World Savings Day is a day for reflecting on the importance of this habit for achieving goals and overcoming difficulties. This week we’ve carried out trainings with young people from Paraguay, Inviting them to consider the importance of saving and providing them with tools and strategies to achieve them.

Yesterday, students and parents from the Colegio Nacional Naciones Unidas de Asunción participated in workshops in which they learned how to manage their money and discovered the importance of planning with a budget, making good financial decisions and defining priorities.

The activity was organized jointly with Banco Itaú, and involved a fun gymkhana in which young people formed groups and had to pass various tests such as calculating their expenses, completing practical exercises about savings, competing using our DinDin Quiz app or creating memes about financial education.

In addition, within the framework of the project Promoting the Financial Inclusion of Young Rural Women, we carried out an activity with young people from the Fulgencio de Yegros school, in San Estanislao. Thanks to an educational video, young people discovered different tools like budget, savings plan and credit. We also invited them to reflect on the importance of establishing goals and objectives, and developing plans to achieve them. In addition, they were involved in a team roleplaying game, in which they were able to create characters and experience the struggles of a young women going through financial problems, managing different strategies to overcome them and achieve a goal.

It is beneficial to learn savings habits and we think that, financial education is an essential tool that needs to be provided from an early age to achieve full development.
