22 Sep FIRST CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN IN PARAGUAY: I SAY YES!
Since September of 2015, Fundación Capital has worked in coordination with the Secretaría Técnica de Planificación del Desarrollo Económico y Social (Technical Secretariat for Economic and Social Development Planning) and the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development) in a pilot project based on our Graduation approach, called Sowing Opportunities Family by Family. It supports 1,000 rural families who live in situations of extreme poverty in the districts of Choré, Capiibary, and Carayaó. The pilot project empowered these families and helped them construct their own development processes by establishing realistic goals. Now we want to continue helping their growth.
#YoDigoSí, the first crowdfunding campaign of Fundación Capital, arrived in Paraguay, eager to facilitate the investment in small businesses so that 100 rural women in situations of poverty could improve the quality of life for themselves and their families. We encouraged recipients of the program Sowing Opportunities Family by Family to complete their business profiles online and participate in a contest. We received more than 500 applications and carried out a selection process in which we chose the 100 women entrepreneurs that form part of Yo Digo Sí today. All the contributions are being collected through our platform LittleBigMoney (LBM), which so far has financed more than 188 projects in Colombia. The campaign will be online until the 15th of October.
I Say Yes is made possible thanks to an award for the work of Fundación Capital. The award was given at the 58th Annual Meeting of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank and 32nd Annual Meeting of the Assembly of Governors of the Inter-American Corporation of Investors. This initial fund proved useful in setting up the campaign and for acting as a base for the donations in support of the women. After the campaign, the total amount of money collected will be shared equally among the 100 entrepreneurial women. We will deposit it in their savings accounts and verify the investments to inform people about the results of the campaign and report to donors and the general population.
We invite you to go to www.yodigosi.org and make your contribution to this big initiative to support the dreams of 100 rural women who want to move their lives forward. I say yes, do you?
