We began our work in 2015 by linking financial inclusion with conditional cash transfer (CCT) programs. We analyzed the economic behaviors of recipient families, especially regarding savings, which enabled us to design a financial education program implemented in three regions.
The program “Five Talks for a Better Life,” designed in collaboration with the Creative Workshop of Aleida Sánchez, was implemented in Chiquimula, Escuintla, and El Tablón Villa Nueva. In Chiquimula, we worked with the Chortí people in areas with high poverty rates, while in Villa Nueva, more than 70% of program participants opened and used savings accounts.
In 2016, the Ministry of Social Development expressed interest in the experiences of Proyecto Capital, launching a new initiative in 2017. Additionally, in 2018, we collaborated with CIFDE to adapt our digital solution LISTA to the Guatemalan context, promoting its inclusion in the country’s public policy.
In 2023, in partnership with seven other organizations, we launched the BioFinCas project to support small and medium producers of coffee, cocoa, and banana by promoting responsible agricultural practices that respect biodiversity. Through 2030, we will continue working on this initiative by providing tools that strengthen participants’ livelihoods and facilitating access to financial solutions that promote fair risk distribution.
We partner with organizations, businesses, and local governments to maximize our impact in the community. Through strategic collaboration, we drive initiatives that create meaningful and sustainable change.
