CELEBRATING THE CLOSING OF THE PILOT PROJECT “STRENGTHENING FINANCIAL CAPABILITIES OF PEOPLE FROM THE ATLANTIC COAST”

Thanks to our partners, Fundación Mundo Mujer y Banco Mundo Mujer, we implemented a program to develop the financial capabilities of clients of the Banco Mundo Mujer. For that, we introduced our LISTA Initiative in five municipalities of four different Departments: Atlántico (Malambo y Soledad), Bolívar (El Carmen de Bolívar), César (La Jagua de Ibirico) and Guajira (Riohacha), reaching 524 clients of the bank and thus providing them with the opportunity to strengthen their financial knowledge and their money management capabilities.

On August 22nd, we organized a workshop to make the pilot’s results in the different regions public, exchange insights, and get feedback from credit analysts and directors of the agencies involved in this implementation. During the event, we offered a presentation of the project and the objectives we want to achieve with this pilot, as well as some of the results yielded so far. Together with the information delivered we shared an analysis of the participants, that it’s summarized in the following profile:

Monitoring and evaluation were carried out during the pilot phase using methodologies of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The information gathered allowed us to measure and analyze knowledge assimilation and behavioural changes in the participants, regarding three main topics:

  1. Budget, good use of credit and savings.
  2. Use of products and financial services.
  3. Digital inclusion.

During the course of the workshop, and based on the data obtained, we reflected on the goals we achieved and the opportunities we’ve found to improve the operating strategy in the field for a scaling-up phase. All this information will be valuable to collectively define the scaling-up strategy for the program, which will strengthen financial capabilities of the population in areas of the country covered by the Banco Mundo Mujer.
